Care-bear. I think that quiz is kind of crap. It tells me that I am 70% General American English, 15% Upper Midwestern, 0% Dixie and (here's the kicker) 0% micdwestern! I've never lived anywhere BUT the midwest! AND...One of the question asked what do you call the thing from which you drink water: Water fountain or Drinking fountain. And this for sure I thought they'd have but didn't: In Wisconsin, we call them BUBBLERS. So ha. I have a thing or 2 to say to your quiz makers.

55% General American English, 30% Yankee, 15% Dixie. The "Yankee" part makes sense, growing up in NY and going to undergrad in MA. But the only southern city I've spent much time in is Miami (which isn't "southern" in the cultural or lingustic sense. It must be my prclivity for saying y'all, which I just like the sound of.
