HIPAA: train wreck?
Seems like people in small towns don't like HIPAA because it mandates too much privacy, while at the same time, the plaintiffs in this Third Circuit case don't like HIPAA because it provides too little.
Me, I haven't looked too closely at HIPAA yet. My curiousity has been piqued.

Anyone as someone who worked in IT until it drove him mad (now law school is doing the same)I always saw HIPAA as a giant scam designed to subsidize the IT industry. It kept the company I used to work for in the money for 4 years.

Sounds about as effective as hot dogs and Pepsi. But much more expensive.
